What controls negative emotions is mindfulness

What controls negative emotions is mindfulness. Mindfulness is something that gives you wisdom, it protects you from making bad things therefore, be mindful.

If we are being mindful for one minute then this minute we are diligent

Diligence always something to do with the Dharma, with understanding and with the mindfulness. To make it clearer, I think if we are being mindful for one minute, for example, then this minute we are diligent.

There is ignorance so there is laziness – there is laziness so there is ignorance

I hope that everyone will get the points and understand better and to arrange a better way for your life, for your Dharma path so that you will get benefits from Dharma practices.

If you are being enough diligent, there is always time for you to practice Dharma

And we have to have a good habit to practice diligently because our habits are not good. Because of our habits, I think we are pretty lazy and that's true.

Using your time to practice as diligently as possible; using your time as tightly as possible

We have to fix our habitual tendency to be lazy, right? (laugh) “I've been lazy and then to be more diligent.” Our laziness affects our practice, which makes it very, very, very slow and we are very forgetful (laughed). We forget to practice Dharma many times, many days. Therefore, we have to fix this problem.

To maintain continuity of Dharma practice and Dharma activities is very difficult

To maintain continuity is very difficult. But naturally as human beings it is much easier to continue things of material, regular things - things of this life. It is much harder to continue Dharma activities.

Get up early for practice is something nice to do, nice to hear, nice to know because not many people are able to do that

Get up early [for practice] is something nice to do, nice to hear, nice to know. Because not many people are able to do that. Not many people really put efforts into their practice. Even though they may say [they] are but the practicing [is] probably verbal.

In every Tibetan Buddhist tradition there is a non-broken lineage between Buddha and one’s Guru

A non-broken lineage is very important source for the result of Dharma practice.

Don’t push youself too much, but try to be diligent nevertheness

People somehow get lazy, but try practicing Dharma for some time or any time is good. There are some more powerful than others, some are not that powerful. The more you do the better, more effective. And you should know how to practice well. We need to have good instructions and we need to have a good teacher and then we need to have good mind, good interest...

Dharma practice is something that need a lot of patience, take a lot of patience and diligence

It’s very nice, very important thing that people here tonight are trying to continually practice Dharma. Not only saying about practicing Dharma but [you] are really practicing Dharma. It is not easy to practice Dharma in your daily life. It is even more difficult to get up early and not one or two days but every day.

You lie for one thing then you may have to lie continually for your entire life, because you are afraid of being known as a liar

The negative [force] that reduces the power of speech is verbal non-virtuous karma that we've created by speech, like harsh words, lying and this and that. So we need to purify that by chanting these three syllables.

We have been lying a lot through countless lives so, that reduces the power, the positive quality of the speech

Because it's powerless, when we read even though we read quite a lot of mantras, we still don't see the result. The reason is because there is heavy karmas that exist in our speech. Therefore, we want to purify that negativity first to make the speech more powerful.
